SHEENA GORDON SIGNS WITH UCLA
 
On Wed. Nov. 21 Sheena Gordon of Mcdowell HS in Erie, Pa. signed a letter of intent to attend UCLA. Gordon chose UCLA over North Carolina, South Carolina, LSU and Texas.

Sheena plans to continue her career in the HJ, TJ and LJ while at UCLA. During the 2001 Indoor season, Sheena won the PA HJ, TJ, LJ and 60H championships. At the Nike Indoor Nationals she won the HJ, TJ and was named the Female Athlete of the Meet. During the 2001 Outdoor season, Sheena won the PA HJ, TJ, and LJ events at the State Championships, leading her McDowell team to their first AAA State Girls' title in T&F. At the Golden West Invitational she set a meet record in the TJ while also competing in the HJ and LJ and won Female Athlete of the meet. At the Foot Locker Outdoor Championships, Sheena won the TJ and placed second in the HJ after a jump-off.
Finally Sheena was named the PA Female Athlete of the year for 2001.

She signed her letter on Nov. 21 in a news conference in the McDowell library.
