Current Season

The following report is from Pottsgrove Head Coach Bart Wasiolek, who expressed the sheer thrill of watching a great XC race between two good runners. And he should be thrilled, because the guy who won is his #1 guy.

"I wanted to let you know about the results of a great head to head battle today - Will Hollister, Perkiomen Valley,  against Corey Rogers, Pottsgrove - in our PAC 10 dual meet.  On our tough hilly 5k home course, they just hammered each other. Will took it out and they were 4:58 at the mile, Corey took over at 2 miles at 10:32 (big hill in it), Will sat on him and they hit a long hill with 800 to go and they were neck and neck. Corey surged with 400 to go and hit a long track finish with a 30 meter lead and held it the last 200 m to take the win.  The best thing is that Corey ran 16:19 and Will ran 16:25, breaking Eammon Brazunas' course record by 33 and 27 secs respectively.  It was just a pure cross country race with two kids who didn't want to lose, hammering each other, neither wanting to give and inch.  I love these reminders that show me why I got into coaching in the first place."

Thanks Bart. So do we.
