Philadelphia Public League Area Championships @ Belmont Plateau

Sophomore Mike Syrnick of Central High, set a Philly Public League record of 16:26 for Belmont Plateau, bettering the 1999 mark of Walter Harley of Simon Gratz. Central took both the Northwest boys' and girls' titles. Reisel Berger of Central had the fastest girls' time of the day, a 20:38. In the North, William Penn girls easily took the title behind Madonna Patterson's 20:49. Masterman won the boys' race, And in the West Area, Overbrook took the boys' title, and University City, the girls'.
