Suburban One League - American Conference Championships

2.95 Miles

Sunny,  65

On the 2.95 mile Ursinus College course, Hatboro-Horsham's girls defeated Wissahickon for the second week in a row, this time on the basis of their sixth runner. But it was Erin Franklin who continues to better last season's marks by 2000 state champ and former teammate Paige Miller. Franklin ran 17:18, over 40 seconds faster than Hatboro's Janine Ricci. Defending D1 champ Katie Ewart of Upper Dublin DNF due to breathing difficulties. Mark Mullelly, Upper Moreland, hed his team to a four point win (54-58) over Upper Dublin, running 14:41 to set a new league record, bettering the mark of Springfield (M) star Tim Carroll. Tom Rhodes, Upper Dubin, was second, also under the previous record of 15:01.
