The defending AAA state champs, Parkland, look to be positioning
themselves for a solid defense after going 1-2-5-16-17 (41) 1:58 spread,
to win the Mountain Valley Conference championship. Easton was 10 points
back, followed by Liberty with 54 points. Returning to form as the big
meets roll around, appears to be defending District 11 champ Paula Giguere,
who has been strengthed by the challenge from newly arrived frosh teammate
Katie Stepp. Stepp had been winning races all year, but Giguere took
this one by 7 seconds in 18:33.8. The Stroudsburg boys, led by John Somer's
third place finish, won the league meet with 44 points, 16 better thena
Parkland. But the individual championship belonged to Dorian McDonald,
